House, office, carpet, window and end of tenancy cleaning from the CBD and Te Aro to Karori, Khandallah and Island Bay, with free, fixed quotes.
4.9 from 52 Google reviews•Fully insured
Apex Cleaning Service provides cleaners across Wellington City, from apartments in the CBD and Te Aro to family homes in Karori, Khandallah, Johnsonville and Tawa. We're a local, family-run company based in Naenae, Lower Hutt, and our cleaners are vetted, trained and fully insured. You can book a weekly or fortnightly house clean, a one-off deep clean before guests arrive, or an end of tenancy clean when you hand back the keys. Offices, shops, cafes and clinics in the central city can book early-morning, evening or weekend cleans, so the work happens outside opening hours. Every job starts with a free, fixed quote agreed before work begins, with no hidden fees.
Wellington weather leaves its mark indoors. Southerlies drive rain against single-glazed windows, condensation pools on the sills each cold morning, and salt spray dulls the glass in Island Bay and around the Miramar Peninsula. Older homes add their own work: villas in Mount Victoria and Newtown have high ceilings, sash windows and long runs of skirting board, and Thorndon's heritage cottages have old timber floors and joinery that are better off with gentle products. Our cleaners bring all the equipment. The products are eco-friendly and safe for children and pets, and if anything is missed and you tell us within 24 hours, we come back and re-clean it free.
What do Wellington City homes need from a cleaner?
It depends on the building. A Te Aro studio, a Thorndon cottage, a Newtown villa and a Johnsonville family home all collect dirt in different places, so it pays to plan the clean around the house rather than a fixed routine.
| Where | Typical homes | Cleans worth asking about |
|---|---|---|
| CBD and Te Aro | Apartments and studios with lifts, shared entrances and balcony sliders | Regular house cleans, glass doors and interior windows, end of tenancy cleans |
| Thorndon | Heritage timber homes and cottages | Regular cleans with eco-friendly products, curtain and blind dusting |
| Mount Victoria and Newtown | Villas with high ceilings, sash windows and long hallways | One-off deep cleans, window cleaning, wall spot cleaning |
| Kelburn, Karori, Khandallah and Johnsonville | Hillside family homes, often up steps from the street | Fortnightly house cleans, carpet cleaning, mould treatment in cold rooms |
| Island Bay and Miramar | Homes near the coast that catch southerlies and salt spray | Window cleaning, carpet cleaning for sand walked in from the beach |
Regular and one-off cleans are booked through our house cleaning service, with oven cleaning, wall washing, mould treatment and more on the add-ons list. Salt-streaked glass is a job for window cleaning, inside and out where it's safely accessible.
Booking cleaning services in Wellington City: access, parking and timing
A few details at quote time make a city clean run smoothly. Apartment buildings and steep streets each have their own quirks, so mention these when you get in touch:
- Building access for apartments in the CBD, Te Aro or Thorndon: swipe cards, a concierge, lift bookings or a loading zone.
- Parking, especially on the narrow, steep streets of Mount Victoria, Kelburn and the other hill suburbs.
- Steps or a long path between the street and your front door, which is common on Wellington hillsides.
- Your vacate and inspection dates, if it's an end of tenancy clean.
Student flats around Kelburn and Te Aro tend to change hands when the university year ends. If you're moving out then, book your end of tenancy clean as soon as you know your date, and use the end of tenancy cleaning checklist to see what inspections usually cover.
For offices in the CBD and Te Aro, commercial cleaning can run early in the morning, in the evening or at weekends, so desks, kitchens and bathrooms are ready before your team walks in. Call 022-606-4460 for a free, fixed quote.
If your building runs a lift booking system, book the lift for the cleaning visit as well as the removal truck.

Which Wellington City suburbs do you clean in?
We clean across Wellington City, including the CBD, Te Aro, Thorndon, Kelburn, Karori, Newtown, Miramar, Mount Victoria, Khandallah, Johnsonville, Tawa and Island Bay. Apex is based in Naenae, Lower Hutt, and also covers Upper Hutt, Porirua and the Kāpiti Coast. If your suburb isn't listed, call 022-606-4460 and ask.
Do you clean apartments in the Wellington CBD and Te Aro?
Yes. Apartments in the CBD and Te Aro can book regular, one-off, deep or end of tenancy cleans. When you ask for a quote, tell us how your building works, such as swipe-card entry, a concierge, lift bookings, loading zones or visitor parking, so the visit can be planned around the building's rules.
Can you clean a student flat in Kelburn at the end of the year?
Yes. Our end of tenancy clean follows a full property checklist to inspection standard, and you get a receipt to show your landlord or property manager. Carpet cleaning can be added to the same visit. Lots of Kelburn and Te Aro flats change hands when the university year ends, so book as early as you can.
Do you offer office cleaning in central Wellington?
Yes. Apex cleans offices, shops, cafes, salons, clinics and gyms in the CBD, Te Aro and the surrounding suburbs. Early-morning, evening and weekend cleans are available, so the work can happen outside your opening hours. Tell us your hours and how often you'd like cleaning, and you'll get a free, fixed quote before the first visit.
How do quotes work for cleaning in Wellington?
Quotes are free and fixed, agreed before any work starts, with no hidden fees. The price depends on the size and condition of the property, the type of clean and any add-ons, such as oven or carpet cleaning. Call 022-606-4460, Monday to Saturday from 8am to 6pm, or send a request through our contact page.
